360 Drive Versions
Before you order Xbox 360 DVD Drive services from us it is important to know what version Xbox 360 DVD Drive you have in your system. Most people don't want to open their Xbox 360 system to find out what's on the label. This guide will help you determine what type of 360 Drive you have and is very simple.
The first thing you'll want to do is plug in your Xbox 360 system and press the eject button to open the drive tray. Now that the drive tray is exposed simply match it with the information below.
There are currently 4 different types of DVD drives in the Xbox360 console.
Hitachi: iXtreme 1.4
Samsung: iXtreme 1.5
BenQ: iXtreme 1.5
LiteOn: iXtreme 1.5

Identifying a Toshiba Samsung Drive
The Toshiba Samsung drive is common in older Xbox 360 systems. Take note of the "U" shape in the center of the tray and the rectangular type cutouts.
Identifying a Hitachi Drive
The center of the tray is wider than the Samsung. There are rectangular cutouts towards the front of the tray as well as some circular holes at the middle area.
Identifying a BenQ / Philips Drive
You'll notice the perfect "U" shape in the center of the tray.
Wire Method for BenQ (Philips) and LiteOn (Philips)
You'll need to take off your Xbox 360 Faceplate for this. Once the faceplate is off look on the drive tray plate for the words "Xbox 360". If you look directly down from the space between the two words you will see an oval shaped hole with a small sqaure on it's left side. You want to look at the wire in this hole. The BenQ drive has a white wire. The LiteOn drive has a yellow wire.
